- Eyelid Surgery
Our eyes are often the first thing to begin showing our age. Drooping eyelids are often genetic and can interfere with your vision. Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, bags under the eye, or eliminate the excess skin associate with drooping eyelids.
Eyelid surgery can focus on just the upper lids or lower lids or both. The results may last for up to 10 years and the surgery is performed under general anesthesia.
Upper Eyelids – reduces puffiness in the upper eyelids. Folds in sagging skin, which can cause vision problems, can also be ameliorated through blepharoplasty.
Lower Eyelids – gets rid of wrinkling and excess skin and corrects droopiness.
Is Eyelid Surgery Right for You?
Who should not have Eyelid Surgery?
Most individuals who are good candidates for blepharoplasty are in excellent health, and, therefore, do not suffer from any conditions that may slow or prevent healing. As a result, blepharoplasty is not advised for people suffering from the following medical conditions:
• Glaucoma or dry eye
• Cardiovascular disease or any related ailments, such as diabetes or high blood pressure
• An overactive or underactive thyroid

“I love my kids but having 3 babies in 5 years really took its toll on my body. Dr. Whitlock helped return my body to its pre-pregnancy state with a Mommy Makeover. I actually look better than I did before having kids!”
